Drew Brees: 2001 Draft Day Picks

Drew Brees was born on January 15, 1979 in Austin, Texas. Although Brees is not the biggest or most athletic quarterback in the NFL, he is surely one of the best. Since his early days he has been forced to prove that hard work and determination can outshine things such as athleticism and size. And one thing is for sure; Brees has been doing this successfully for quite some time.

Brees played his high school ball in Austin, Texas at Westlake High School. During his senior season Brees led his team to a 5A Division II State Championship. They finished the season undefeated; the only time that the school has ever accomplished this feat.

Although he was recruited heavily out of high school, Brees decided to play his college ball at Purdue University. When everything was said and done he had set many records at both Purdue, as well as the Big Ten Conference. These records include most passing yards in a career with 11,792, completions with

How Hand-Blown Crystal Glassware is Made and Where to Find It

We don’t always put much thought into what brand of small kitchen appliances we’re buying …we just look for a good ‘deal’. Then, after it only works for six weeks, we throw it out and start over. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!

My collection began when my grandmother gave me different pieces of crystal glassware she had found over the years at auctions out in the farm areas of middle Michigan.  She taught me what she knew about brands, types, manufacturing methods, etc. When a few books became many—leading to a library of styles and history of what is now antique crystal glassware—her knowledge grew.  While growing up and shadowing her interest, naturally my knowledge grew as well.  Among the pieces she left to me (because she knew I’d always loved them) were a black amethyst centerpiece bowl and candle holders, rose bowls and candy dishes.

Now many of you may be wondering, “What in the world is a black amethyst centerpiece?”  Among custom

Penn State Nittany Lions Tickets – Rose Bowl and Dreaming of California

The New Year?s Day is beckoning for the Nittany Lions as they prepare to face up to the challenge posed by the Californian team at the Rose Bowl. Already, the very fact that this match would be played in the Rose Bowl has generated quite a bit of interest in both camps. It must be said that the Nittany Lions, who have had not bad a run thus far, have already started counting their resources for the game. After all, any away game is just not going to be easy, and coming up against a team like the one of California and that too in Rose Bowl means you have to pick up your game several notches if not less.

While the team practices for the upcoming hurdle on the first day of 2009, there are not many distractions around. Talk of distractions and one of them is the indecision about the quarterback. Pat Devlin, who was the leading quarterback decided to shift shores last week. This decision, sudden though, has left a big void in the Nittany Lions, something they

Matt Leinart : 2006 Draft Day Picks

Matt Leinart was born in Santa, Ana California on May 11, 1983. With the heart of a lion, the will to win, and all the intangibles, it is easy to see why he is considered to be one of the best quarterbacks in football. When you add these features to his strong arm and 6 foot 5 inch frame, he has everything that it takes to be a great player in the NFL.

Many people are not aware that Leinart was born cross eyed, and that he had to have surgery to correct this problem at a young age. To add to this, he was also a bit overweight. This led to a lot of ridicule during his younger years, which in turn forced him into sports as an outlet. This worked out for him at Mater Dei High School where he became one of the top quarterback recruits in the entire country. After a stellar senior season in 2000, Leinart accepted a scholarship offer from the University of Southern California.

As a freshman Leinart saw limited action on the field, and did not

How to Capture the Look and Feel of ?victory!?

Suppose you could look and feel like “Victory?” and capture the feeling of momentous triumph at will?

What difference would that make in your success journey if you felt like you just scored the winning goal in World Cup Soccer?

Fortunately, you don’t have be a soccer player to find out.

Here’s how to look and feel like “Victory!” and experience a great moment of triumph at will.

On July, 10, 1999, Brandi Chastain scored the winning goal that earned the U.S. women’s soccer team the World Cup title. With 90,185 spectators in the Rose Bowl and 40 million watching on TV, she also struck a classic victory pose.

When she scored the winning goal, she ripped off her shirt, sank to her knees, clenched her fists, raised her arms shoulder high, leaned back a bit, looked up, and lit up her face with a look that proclaimed “Victory!” loud and clear.

How To Perform Under Pressure

How To Perform Under Pressure

My wife and I rented a pressure washer last weekend to clean the patio and pool area in the back and our front entry way. What a great tool.

If you’ve ever used one you know the fantastic feeling of power that comes with blowing away the bad guys (dirt and grime). We practically fought over the chance to obliterate the mixture of green and black crud that had snuck its way onto our beautiful stuff.

The guy we rented from said there’s no need to add soap, the water alone will get the job done because it is under enough pressure. It in turn puts enough pressure on whatever the water hits to strip it to its essence. In other words, pressure strips away superficial appearances and reveals what is really there. You get to see what you and other things — are made of.

To find out what’s inside of an orange, squeeze it (we have two trees full in our yard, so feel free to stop by and try one). To find out what your tile

What Ohio State Football Can Teach You About Your Business

What Ohio State Football Can Teach You About Your Business

If you follow college football, you’ve probably run across Ohio State a time or two. Their football program is very old and very prestigious.

But I’m still cringing at the thought of watching them get beaten by Oregon at the Rose Bowl. (Yes I’m fairly certain they’ll lose although I do hope I’m wrong.) As a Big Ten fan, I’m really tired of watching Ohio State get hammered in these big, national games.

(Of course, if MY team, the Wisconsin Badgers, would ever actually beat them in conference, maybe all of this would be different but I digress.)

For the life of me I couldn’t figure out what was going on. Why did Ohio State win so darn many games only to consistently embarrass the Big Ten in big out-of-conference games? Jim Tressel is an excellent coach. Isn’t he?

Well, this year I finally got my answer. Yes Jim Tressel is an excellent coach. But he plays not to lose. He doesn’t play to win.
